How to read it

Pay decides who shows up

Hourly workers compare jobs by pay first. Below the 25th percentile a job draws few applicants and short-notice shifts go unfilled. Between the 25th and the median it fills, given lead time. Above the median it fills at a normal pace.

Contract wages can be hard to move. When yours is low, a C1 recruiter can tell you what it means for your fill time, and where it does fill.

Questions

Where do these pay figures come from?

From the live job postings on the C1 jobs board: the hourly rate each job pays the worker, refreshed with every site update. They are what C1 is posting now, not a survey.

Why does the percentile matter?

Hourly workers compare jobs by pay first. A job paying less than most others nearby for the same role draws fewer applicants and more no-shows, and short-notice shifts are the first to go unfilled.

What if my state has few postings?

When a state has fewer than three postings for the role, the checker compares against all states and says so.

Is this the bill rate?

No. These are worker pay rates. The bill rate adds payroll taxes and recruiting; a C1 recruiter quotes it for your role and site.
